Veteran Harrier on top 10k form

TOP Highgate Harrier Chris Bailey was in impressive form on Monday when he finished as the second-highest placed veteran in the Hyde Park 10k road race.
Recording a time of 35minutes, 10secs, Bailey came home in 11th place overall out of a field of more than 460 finishers.
Damian Shirley and Duncan Burbidge also ran well as they finished just eight seconds apart, taking 31st and 32nd spot respectively.
Meanwhile on Boxing Day Jonathan Deane topped a field of 20 runners to capture the Highgate Harriers Bottomists Cup at Hampstead Heath with a winning time of 17mins, 34secs.
Deane carried his good form into the Serpentine 5k road race on Monday, where he hit a time of 17mins, 23secs to take 17th place out of 183 finishers.

RUNNERS from London Heathside wasted no time returning to action as they were also out in force over the weekend.
Among the top performers was Jacob Howe, who completed the 5k road race at Hyde Park in 17mins, 28secs to seal a top 20 finish in 19th place.
Club mates Angela Howe, Alan Dickson, Afsaji Hiwa and Graham Bell also all put in commanding runs.
Elsewhere Kabir Kemp ran well to take 34th spot in the five-mile cross-country league race in Chingford, while Gavin Evans finished 28th in the 10k road race at Hyde Park.
