In the junior men’s race, Saningo Martyn improved on his 18th place finish in last year’s competition when he completed the 8000m circuit in 27mins, 39secs to hit home in 10th spot out of starting pack of 70 runners.

n LONDON Heathside also enjoyed a successful turnout at the championships. Jo King sealed the club’s highest-placed finish of the day when she took 18th place in the women’s senior race with a very respectable time of 31mins, 12secs.
Teammate Anna Critchlow crossed the finishing line 27seconds later to claim 24th spot. Angela Howe took 50th place with a time of 33mins, 38secs.
Top Heathside junior Ella Waldman put in an impressive display in the women’s under-17s race as she clinched a top-20 finish with a time of 20mins, 15secs.
