Racism must be exposed
• THOMAS Andrew’s comments (British ‘racism’ Feb 1) prompted me to ask, does that include non-white racism and bigotry as the UK population is of such a diverse mix?
On Wednesday January 17 there was an article in the Evening Standard by Nirpal Dhariwal, provoked by the Big Brother affair, attacking the white working class for being ignorant, racist bigots because of the remarks of one or two silly loud-mouthed girls.
I found his comments most objectionable and that coming from a white‚ working class background that I should be tarred with the same brush and complained to the various bodies about his racism but who took any notice? No one.
Isn’t he the one who on Channel 4 said the UK was a good place to exploit the colour of his skin.
Racism cuts both ways and should be exposed equally but somehow those in power with their post colonial guilt and positions of power to preserve and exploit don’t want to rock the boat and see divide and rule as being very profitable.
