Prince andrew drops in for coffee at the free
COFFEE breaks at the Royal Free Hospital were temporarily stopped on Tuesday when the Duke of York passed by to open the refurbished Heathside Café.
Prince Andrew impressed queuing patients and visitors with his jokes as he paid a flying visit to the Hampstead hospital of which he is patron.
He took time out to talk to staff, patients and volunteers about what they thought of the new café, which took 12 weeks to complete and cost £250,000, funded by the Friends of the Royal Free.
The prince also unveiled a plaque at the £2.5 million Medical Assessment and Admissions Unit, designed to give immediate treatment to adults who arrive at accident and emergency with a range of acute medical admissions. The unit has 34 beds and took nine weeks to build.
