Sarah McCafferty with her boyfriend Junior Stanley
Brits bash for woman who rose to pop idol’s challenge

FOR Sarah McCafferty, her most embarrasing night ever resulted in one of her biggest thrills when she attended the star-studded Mastercard Brit Awards last night (Wednesday).
To claim the New Journal prize of tickets to the big bash, Sarah, 21, from Lawford Road, Kentish Town, wrote in with her most embarrassing story.
She described an evening at Nambucca pub in Highbury, watching a secret Kooks gig, when she was surprised by one of her pop idols.
She had been heckling the Naïve band, demanding Paul Weller songs, when the star himself appeared and asked her to sing his song instead.
“I placed Paul’s sunglasses on my face and recited That’s Entertainment while Paul and his friends clapped and smiled,” she said.
Ms McCafferty, a carer for her disabled brother, surprised her boyfriend Junior Stanley at his workplace on Monday with the news that she had Brit Awards tickets. “He was gobsmacked,” she said.
