Cross-country double delight
THERE was double delight for youngsters from Camden School for Girls and William Ellis Secondary School on Tuesday as they swept the board at the Cross-Country Championships.
The performance of the day saw Acland Burghley pupil Samara Williams win the girls’ Year 8 race in eight minutes, 58 seconds.
But Camden School rallied to secure a series of higher-placed finishes to take an impressive team title.
In the girls’ Year 7 race, Parliament Hill School made a strong challenge to Camden’s supremacy as they sealed a top-two finish, with Isobel Barnes taking gold and Georgia Neville silver.
But again Camden School for Girls had more finishers in the top order to seal their second trophy of the day.
William Ellis were also double champions as Dan White led the Highgate School home in first place in the Year 8 boys’ category in eight minutes, 57 seconds.
William Ellis sealed their second win of the afternoon with a storming victory in the boys’ Year 7 race as Se Oba-Smith, Jake O’Neill and Jerome Brown completed a top three finish.
