Our small shops are going at a quick rate
• ANOTHER apparent victim of the Marks and Spencer incursion into our little South End community as Lulu’s flower, fruit and veg stall outside Hampstead Heath station closes after a mere 44 years (Lulu calls it a day, Feb 20).
This follows the demise of the Deli just opposite, and pessimistic reports from other locals. We gather the other flower stall, the two Johns next the hospital, has a fight on.
Sadly Hegners is also going. Incidentally the station has an interesting new ad on each platform inviting us to the new M&S branch “simply” called Pond Street, Hampstead.
Can’t we “simply” have back our matinees and Saturdays Simply Films. Please.
