Thierry: We’ll seal place in Champions League
Gunners’ captain confident of comeback after shock defeat
THIERRY Henry is backing his Arsenal boys to complete another trademark comeback against PSV in two weeks time and seal a place in the Champions League quarter-finals.
The influential captain was as surprised as the watching fans when the Gunners lost 1-0 on Tuesday at the Philips Stadion in a match they dominated.
“I didn’t think we did much wrong,” he said. “We were patient, we were passing the ball around well and creating some chances. We just didn't find the way to score. “I am not saying our chances were clear-cut but if it was not for three or four magnificent saves by the goalkeeper we could have gone back home with the victory. “But I still think it’s an open tie and I still think we can do the job at home. We have enough to go through in this tie.”
Meanwhile there was good news for Gunners fans as Managing Director Keith Edelman pledged to make next season’s ticket prices as affordable as possible, acknowledging the expense that comes with following a successful club like Arsenal.
Taking to the club’s official site about the current ticket prices at the Emirates Stadium, Edelman revealed: “We have always been very cautious about ticket prices, and entry ticket prices are what we look at most carefully to make sure we are affordable to everybody. “We actually froze our ticket prices last year, we’re one of the few clubs who did that, and we still sold out. We will obviously look at the decision very carefully. “We are cognisant of the fact that football is expensive to go to for fans. They love coming here, they want to continue that as much as they can so we have to find a balance between commercial and being fan friendly.” |
