We need
a league boost says Kolo
ARSENAL defender Kolo Toure has warned that they must use their
win in Madrid as a springboard to sorting out their Premiership
form.
He told the New Journal the Gunners cant afford to follow
up their success in Spain with defeat at Blackburn Rovers on
Saturday.
Arsenal are facing a fight to even be part of next seasons
Champions League tournament, locked in a nervous battle with
Tottenham, Bolton and West Ham for a top four finish. A slip-up
on Saturday would severely dent the Gunners hopes.
Toure said in Madrid: We are happy tonight but we need
to think about the Blackburn match. We need to do better in
the Premiership. It is a great day for me, for us but we have
had a hard time in the league.
The centre-back followed the Gunners poor run of results
last month from the Ivory Coast team camp at the African Nations
Cup in Egypt.
And he added: I still think Arsenal are a good side,
it has been hard in the Premiership but we are hoping to do
better. |
