Putting
the record straight over King's X
Last weeks story on Kings Cross regeneration
contained several misconceptions (Kings Cross could become
an unloved Canary Wharf, Resist another Canary Wharf,
February 23).
Because of the sheer size of the opportunity for the Kings
Cross site, the report on the development applications is bound
to be long and detailed.
The report was published on Friday February 17 on Camden Councils
website (www.cam
den.gov.uk/kingscross).
This was well in advance of the decision meeting on March 8
and 9, and well in advance of our normal publication date, to
give people the time and opportunity to read it.
The committee will make the decisions on the Kings Cross
Central applications after more than five years of public
consultation.
Camden Council consulted firstly on the overall policy framework,
then on the planning and development brief, then on the actual
applications, and then again on the amendments made to these.
Overall, there has been a very careful, inclusive and long process
of consultation leading up to this important decision.
