Roundhouse hosts the stars in charity bash
OSCAR winner Dame Helen Mirren was among the stars who turned out for a gala fund-raising party at the Roundhouse in Chalk Farm last Thursday.
Dame Helen joined a celebrity guest list including actresses Gillian Anderson, Brenda Blethyn and Zoe Wannamaker, director’s Richard Eyre and Nicholas Hytner and actors Iain Glen and Jeremy Northam for the event, which raised more than £650,000 for the National Theatre.
Highlights included a champagne reception and a charity auction offering winners the chance to own an original Alan Bennett manuscript and the chance to meet the Arsenal football team at their private training ground.
The money raised will go towards the National Theatre’s education and studio programmes which support the development of the next generation of writers, directors and performers.
