All set for a Final thriller

PLAYERS from Globetown and Reddot are ready to face each other in the dream final after securing their place in the final of our New Journal Challenge Cup on Sunday.
Current Division One champions Reddot edged past high flying’ Holloway Celtic in their nail-biting semi-final showdown at Hackney Marshes.
Reddot keeper James Self made a vital save early on to deny Celtic the opening goal.
Just minutes before the break Jason Medford scored what proved to be the winner when he broke free of the chasing defence and chipped the keeper to seal a narrow 1-0 victory for Reddot.
Reddot missed out on an all-club final as sister side RD Athletic were undone by cup holders Globetown.
Meriton Isufi returned to the starting line-up following a horrific leg break to fire Athletic in to the lead with his first goal of the season.
Globetown made the worst possible start as a clash of heads between Darren Abbott and Danny Walsh resulted with Abbott being carried out of the game with a badly cut eye after only 10 minutes.
Globetown rallied for the equaliser and finally made the all-important breakthrough on the stroke of half time when Peter Walsh scored from the spot.
Globetown upped their game in the second half and raced into a commanding lead courtesy of goals from Danny Walsh, Danny Carson and John Embery.
A Paul Dunne penalty in the final minutes rounded off the scoring as Globetown ran out 5-1 winners.
Elsewhere in the league, Division Three debutants North Side are on the verge of clinching the championship after a thrilling 2-1 victory over the Constitution.
North side raced in to an early lead when Chris O’Brien latched on to an inch-perfect cross from Jamie Charles to net his 30th goal of the season.
O’Brien came within inches of doubling North Side’s advantage minutes later when he raced on to a through ball and beat the keeper, only to see his effort come back off the inside of the post.
The Constitution hit back to level the scores just before the interval. But star striker O’Brien restored North Side’s lead on the hour mark with a sweetly struck volley, sealing a priceless 2-1 victory.
