Geoffrey and Elaine Lever with wellwishers. |
Regulars say thanks to hardware couple
GRATEFUL shoppers gathered outside Cavours Hardware store in Swain’s Lane, Highgate on Thursday to bid farewell to the couple who have been serving them for more than 40 years.
Geoffrey and Elaine Lever, who closed the doors to the popular store for the last time on Saturday, were greeted by over 30 regulars who came to say thank you.
Pam Cooper, of Swain’s Lane, presented the couple with a print of a painting entitled The Lower Highgate Pond, by artist T. Baynes in 1820, paid for by a whip round of regulars.
Mrs Cooper told the pair that they would be sorely missed and dearly remembered. |
