Walcott settles in nicely

Premier Reserve League South
Arsenal 2, Charlton 0

SOL Campbell and Robin van Persie came through Monday night’s clash with Charlton unscathed as they return to fitness.
But it was Theo Walcott who inspired Arsenal to victory, breaking the deadlock seven minutes after half-time from Van Persie’s perfectly timed through ball.
Afterwards, reserve team boss Neil Banfield told the New Journal there was more to come from the 16-year-old after switching him from the left wing to the right and then up front for the final 10 minutes.
Banfield said: “Theo has got a lot of strings to his bow. I think he’s a player that can play in those three positions.
“He is always a threat. He contributed to the team with things that we are really pleased with and he’s settling down and getting used to the Arsenal way of playing. It’ll take time but there are certainly good signs showing from him.”
Nicklas Bendtner sealed Arsenal’s win by rolling the ball under the keeper with 16 minutes left.
