Don’t run away from your vote
• COUNCILLOR Flick Rea should not run away from the cuts to the library service that she voted for in this year’s budget (Writer fears impact of library cuts, March 22). Cllr Rea and her Liberal Democrat and Tory colleagues cheered the budget through.
Instead of running away from her decision, she should now tell people why she agreed to it.

• IT is disingenuous of Libraries chief Cllr Rea to claim that she had nothing to do with the cuts to the library service when she claims she has nothing to do with the day-to-day running of libraries.
This “not me guv” approach is similar to when I saw her distancing herself from the rushed Kentish Town Baths closure consultation, pointing the finger at everyone else but herself.
The cuts are the responsibility of the administration’s new budget, which she proposed and voted for as an Executive member and as a Liberal Democrat.
To pretend otherwise is not being straight with the electorate.
