Musical tonic as jazzman plays for free
JAZZ legend Humphrey Lyttelton helped raise more than £5,000 for the Friends of the Royal Free Hospital on Thursday when he performed his annual gig in aid of the Hampstead hospital’s charity.
Mr Lyttelton, who lives in Hampstead, was joined on stage by a surprise guest, Dartmouth Park-based jazz clarinettist Wally Fawkes, who played in the Lyttelton band in the 1950s.
Mr Lyttelton said: “They are always an appreciative crowd at the Free, which makes things easier – and it is a good cause I am happy to support.” |
