League Under-14 Cup
PENALTIES were the name of the game on Saturday as Tufnell beat
Ampthill from the spot to lift the cup.
The boys from Ampthill had held their nerve in two penalty shoot-outs
to make the final.
But Tufnell broke the spell when a goal-less high impact final,
which saw a man-of-the-match performance from Ampthills
Tony Lockhart, was settled from the spot.
Ampthill manager Theresa Reed collected the fair play trophy
on behalf of the club, Venues Alvaro Sojalo was named
most skilful player by organisers Camden Sports Development,
and NW1s shot stopper Mukul Mohammed was in fine form
to win the goalkeeper of the tournament honour.
INGESTRES dreams of a league and cup double were dashed
by Isledon Wolves on Saturday.
A thrilling tie saw Sam Falahi open for the Islington side,
but league title winners Ingestre stepped up a gear in the second
half. Jamal Larouci equalised for the team from Ingestre Community
Centre in Kentish Town.
But Jerome Nathan broke the league winners hearts when
he hit the winner to secure silverware for Wolves in their first
season.
