Help football club to survive
• COUNCILLOR Stewart’s recent letter concerning the spiralling costs of the refurbishment of Kentish Town Baths has prompted me to write and point out that less than one percent of the total cost of the Baths refurbishment would be sufficient for Kentish Town Football Club to survive for another season, or even two, bringing huge worldwide publicity to the Ward and putting Kentish Town firmly on the map.
Unfortunately due to lack of financial support within Camden and no sniff of a sponsor willing to back us the club are very likely to fold at the end of this season.
Why can’t the borough’s great and the good see the goldmine it has under its nose whereby the club has the potential, aspiration and know how to be every bit as successful one day as our illustrious neighbours in Islington. CLIFF RHODES
Secretary, Kentish Town Football Club
