Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR Published: 19 April 2007
Who can you believe?
• IN a recent Camden Labour leaflet, I read that “the Lib Dems aim to scrap free bus travel for under-18s”.
Wanting to find out more, I did some research. A simple search on the internet led me to the website of Labour MP David Lammy, who says: “The Liberal Democrats backed Labour on free bus travel for young people”.
Like anyone, I was left wondering who to believe – the Camden Labour Party or the MP for Tottenham, who I discovered was simply reflecting the position of the Lib Dems in the London Assembly when they voted on the budget on February 14.
Having supported their party when they first took power ten years ago, and having subsequently been let down and comprehensively lied to, I really don’t think there is anything Camden Labour could say now that I would believe. BEN GREENING
