Last orders for bygone era
• CAN I respond to Councillor Fulbrook’s letter asking why the Liberal Democrat-led administration has closed the bar that used to operate at council meetings? (Why shut the bar? April 19).
The present administration felt that the people of Camden deserved better from their political representatives. We felt that times had moved on and the wants and mores of a bygone, somewhat more lubricated, political age where politicians drank their way through council business should be replaced by a more professional atmosphere.
If Julian and his chums have to have a drink whilst the rest of us concentrate on council business, there are several pubs within a two-minute walk of the council buildings. Cllr ARTHUR GERAVES
Chair Audit Committee (Lib Dem)
