Pass fiasco will cost votes

• I HAVE always thought that the Lib Dems were Tories in disguise and now this fiasco over the Freedom Pass for the elderly, the vulnerable and school kids has just confirmed it (Lib Dems support the Freedom Pass, April 19).
As I read it, the London councils have all the time in the world to discuss the Freedom Pass and, if they cannot agree over the arrangements for the pass by 31 December each year the London Mayor can guarantee it.
This stops all these politicians who want to end the Freedom Pass using endless delaying tactics.
These politicians have now realised that they have committed political suicide.
There are about a million pensioners who will think again the next time, not forgetting that everybody in London will eventually be entitled to the Freedom Pass.

• HE'S at it again – Keith Moffitt (Lib Dems support the Freedom Pass, April 19). Why did he con the voter once he got into power to take over Camden Council?
His latest target is the OAPs over the Freedom Pass. He has in one way or another attacked every single age group.
But I don’t hear him attacking the top people in high jobs – and very light jobs at that. I would say at least six of them got 29.5 per cent pay rises and another five got 19.5 per cent pay rises. And yet he has a problem with how much the council pays out for the Freedom Passes for travel for the OAPs. Once again, what a con for the people of Camden.
