Tragic doctor took his own life
A GP killed himself because he was haunted by his past and worried for the future of his family, an inquest heard.
Dr Frank Solomon, 58, who lived in the Vale of Health, died just before Christmas last year. Coroner’s officer Christine Constantinou told St Pancras Coroner’s Court on Tuesday: “Dr Solomon was diagnosed with depression in 2004 and stopped practising in that year.”
Dr Jonathon Rydell of Highgate Medical Group Practise said Dr Solomon: “Talked about continuing despair, unhappiness, of not having a future in front of him.”
The inquest heard Dr Solomon “worried for the future of his family”.
Coroner Dr Andrew Reid told the court: “He was troubled by professional events in the past and worried about his future.”
He added, Dr Solomon “voluntarily and deliberately self-harmed”.
Verdict: Took his own life.
