Santiago grabs Big Five

STAR swimmer Santiago Parilli was in sensational form at the weekend as members from Camden Swiss Cottage Swimming Club won a host of awards at the Middlesex Development ‘A’ meet.
The talented 14-year-old proved too fast for his level as he captured five speeding tickets after finishing faster than the county qualifying time in the 50m freestyle, the 50m and 100m fly and the 200m backstroke and individual medley.
Speedy Santiago also captured double gold with the 100m and 200m breaststroke, before clinching silver in the 100m backstroke.
Club mate Jamie Yates also scooped five speeding tickets as he hit record times in the 50m back, the 50m breaststroke, the 100m and 200m individual medley and the 400m freestyle. The highly rated 11-year-old also picked up a deserved silver medal in the 800m freestyle.
Overall an incredible 57 swimmers from the Camden and Islington based club scooped top awards. 
Tamsin McKinnon achieved four speeding tickets and won silver in 200m free, while Aaron Barta, Billy Bradley, Carlo Lavarini, Cordelia Grossman, Ed Graham, Oliver Wilkinson, Paloma Friedrich and Rachael Morton captured three speeding tickets each.
Meanwhile Clara Ahmed, Leanne Yates, Liam Coyle, Sara Barta, Vergil Wong and William Rittenhouse all won two speeding tickets apiece.
Among the pick of the other top performers were Alex Burgess, who won gold and silver in his respective fly events, and Samantha Thomas, who clinched an incredible six gold medals in her category.
