drop-in centre
ACTOR Sir John Hurt joined youngsters launching a drop-in centre for other young people in Bloomsbury on Tuesday.
Sir John, famous for his roles in Alien and the Elephant Man, was at the Gordon Mansions estate in Huntley Street to launch the fortnightly project that will include a juice bar, PlayStation and internet access, and film evenings.
The drop-in is being run by the estate’s youth committee, which was formed four months ago by members of Fitzrovia Youth in Action who live in Gordon Mansions.
Paying tribute to the young people, Sir John said: “There are some guys who talk about things, some who say things should be done, and then there are those who make things happen. That’s what these guys are doing. I am 100 per cent behind them.
