Burgley bag top prize

GIRLS from Acland Burghley were celebrating after becoming the first team to win silverware on the school’s brand new Astroturf pitch.
The top team of 12 to 13- year-olds from the school in Tufnell Park saw off competition from scores of talented youngsters to be crowned champions of the Year 8 Federation Football League.
Organised by former England and Arsenal Ladies defender Kirsty Pealling and senior PE teacher at Acland Burghley, Sarah McAulay, the pioneering six week competition is aimed at giving secondary school girls from across the borough the chance to play competitive football on a more regular basis.
