Two-year ban for teenager

A TEENAGE tearaway who threw an apple into a resident’s eye and called police community support officers “plastic cops” has been banned from parts of Camden for two years.
Lee Smith, now 16, terrorised residents on his scooter and behaved aggressively to police and members of the public.
Mr Smith, of Chester Road, Highgate, was given a two-year anti-social behaviour order last Tuesday, after District Judge James Henderson was presented with a list of more than 50 anti-social acts allegedly perpetrated by the teenager.
Mr Smith was accused of hitting a resident of Whittington estate in the eye with a thrown apple, jumping on the back of a moving lorry, being abusive towards police and hitting a youth in the face near Chester Road shops.
He was also twice seen tampering with residential and car door handles and riding a scooter the wrong way down roads, at times weaving in and out of traffic and narrowly missing a bus.
Camden Council claimed Mr Smith was involved in intimidation and abusive behaviour around Salisbury Walk, where residents feared for their safety.
He was banned from parts of Camden, from using any motor vehicle in any pedestrian areas and from using abusive, intimidating or threatening language or behaviour within Camden and Islington for two years.
A Camden Council press official said: “This young person has caused a huge amount of distress and harassment.”
