Talacre bedfellows
• MY family were at the well-attended launch of the Friends of Talacre Gardens and we were impressed by the feeling of unity which existed at that meeting (‘Extra protection’ for Talacre Gardens, May 31). Making Talacre Gardens London’s first Town Green and saving their 2.5-acre local park has brought unlikely bedfellows together.
Labour and Liberal Democrats fighting on the same side is a unique experience. But on May 29, that is what we all witnessed.
We have Dalby Street developer Mr Charlie Fulford to thank for such a rare unity among local residents and politicians.
By his constant threats to this much-loved local park, Mr Fulford has become the best recruiting agent for the Friends of Talacre Gardens. WILLIAM NAWROCKI
