Gardens' open day yields bumper cash crop
ONE of Chalk Farm’s best-kept secrets threw open its gates on Sunday.
Plants and flowers grown at Adelaide Community Gardens – plots sandwiched between Fellows Road and Adelaide
Road – were sold to raise money, which will be ploughed back into the allotments.
The open day marked the end of Jeff Travers’s time as chairman of the gardens. Now, he intends “to concentrate on his vegetables”.
There is only a small waiting list for plots. Anyone interested should call 020 7722 0059.
