All God’s creatures
• WHAT a contrast between St Paul’s Church in Camden Square and St George’s Church in Bloomsbury.
Father Bruce Batson, at St Paul’s, demonstrates the very essence of religion, compassion and love for non-human animals with whom we share this world by blessing all creatures great and small in the annual pet service (Pets get parish blessing, June 7).
In contrast, St George’s seems eager for more of God’s creatures to be killed so that more money can be raised for the restoration of the church (Slice of diners’ roast beef helps restore £9m church, June 7).
Why didn’t St George’s seize the opportunity to show true compassion for all living beings by choosing to raise funds with a cruelty-free meal? PAMELA KINNUNEN
