Athletic golds galore
GABRIEL Ankrah led the medal charge for Camden on Saturday as youngsters showed off their skills at the London Schools Athletics Championships at Battersea.
The Hampstead School star captured double gold winning the hammer event with a throw of 35.40, before going on to win the discus with a National Standard of 37.30.
In the junior girls age group Krystina Francis of Maria Fidelis won a gold medal in the 75m hurdles with a time of 12.1.
The medals continued in the intermediate girls category when Zahra Akinpeju of Haverstock won the discus with a distance of 26.28. Zahra continued her success in the shot putt when she covered a distance of 8.84 to take silver.
In the last event, the intermediate boys team of Frankie Farmer, Jacinto Mendes, Eric Guei and Hakeem Aderibigbe took gold in the 4x100m relay.
There were also silver medals for Imogen Strannis Oppler, Hannah Ashman and Hakeem Aderibigbe, while Eucalypta Bradley and William Laing both won bronze. |
