Gunners host award ceremony for Hampstead’s young stars
THE Emirates Stadium played host to a glitzy award ceremony on Saturday when scores of players from Hampstead Football Club turned out for their annual end of season trophy presentations.
More than 700 managers, players and parents made Arsenal’s glamorous new home their own as they reflected on what has been a magnificent season for the club.
As an added surprise, Arsenal Ladies and England striker Lianne Sanderson turned up to present 88 special trophies to the star players of the season.
Hampstead won no fewer than eight major trophies last term, including the under-10s league and cup double and the under-11s Challenge Cup in the Camden and Islington Youth League, the under-10s London Shield and two championships in the Harrow Youth League.
There was also success for Hampstead’s glory girls after they won the league and cup double in the under-13s Middlesex League, while coach Tracy Dowsett was named as the clubs’ Manager of the Season.
Hampstead also launched their new academy for players aged six to 14 years old, and will start next season boasting an incredible 30 teams, including six girls’ sides. |
