Seven due at Bailey
SEVEN young Somali men charged with the Camden Town murder of student Mahir Osman are expected to make their first Old Bailey appearance in the autumn.
The defendants – only three can be named at this stage – are alleged to be part of a mob involved in an attack in Camden High Street in January. Mahir, 18, from Swiss Cottage, collapsed with fatal stab wounds. He died hours later in hospital.
Three defendants, Faisal Wangita, 24, Ismail Mohammed, 19 and Liban Elmi, 20, all from Camden, are accused of his murder. Applications for bail are believed to have been made to judges in chambers. The seven are due at the Old Bailey on September 7 when a trial timetable will be mapped out. |
