It’s all go for the Heathside runners
ATHLETES from London Heathside Running Club enjoyed one of their busiest weeks so far as they turned out for no fewer than nine different events.
Among the highlights for Heathside saw Jacob Howe, Jamie Smith and Mike Abrahams all seal personal bests in their respective events in the Watford open on Wednesday.
On Saturday a team of six Heathsiders took part in the Dorney Dash 10k event, a flat and fast race around the lake that will be used for the rowing events in the 2012 Olympics.
Experienced runners Anna Critchlow and Angela Howe finished second and third respectively to lead the Heathside women’s team to victory. Jackie Wastell also ran well to take 18th place overall.
The men’s trio of Martin Potter, Julian Ferraro and Richard Browne were also victorious as they won the men’s overall team trophy. |
