Law centre secured
• WE are extremely pleased that the council has agreed a near standstill grant for the current financial year and has agreed the funding of the Law Centre for the forthcoming three and a half years from October 2007. We wish to thank everyone who supported us in our campaign for continued funding to enable us to continue our work in the community. Future funding will be at a reduced level however. We calculate that the cut of 2.5 per cent year on year with no increase for inflation will constitute a cut of over £45,000 over the three-year period and we are concerned about the impact on our service delivery to some of the most vulnerable residents in the borough.
