Threat to our amenities
• THE relevance of the Mayor’s decision regarding Dalby Street is that he chose to get involved in a relatively small project and stopped it (In Dalby Street, Mayor Ken has finally done the right thing, July 12).
For local people, the significance has been the scale of the threats to two major public amenities, The Talacre Community Sports Centre and Talacre Gardens.
No amount of spin could detract from such threats.
