Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR Published: 19 July 2007
A debate is necessary
•AT a meeting last week with myself and Penny Roberts (chair of the Church Secondary School for Camden Campaign), the council leadership asked us (at the 11th hour) to put forward our ideas for a Church-sponsored secondary in Camden. They have already received a proposal from University College London and, of course, have had a whispered dialogue for some time now with UCL. We were assured that both proposals would be fairly considered, although it is clear to us that UCL has long been the council’s preferred sponsor. We still believe that an open competition is the best way to proceed so that our proposal and claims can be debated alongside that of UCL and any other party who wishes to enter the competition.
