Proposed concert site unveiled
KENWOOD concert chiefs will be hosting a series of tours of a potential new location for the stage in the grounds of the historic house today (Thursday).
Senior staff from House guardians, English Heritage, and concert organisers IMG will be on hand to show visitors exactly where the new stage could sit.
They hope the new location, in an area known as the Pasture Ground, will allay residents’ fears about excessive noise levels.
The new site is bigger and further away from residents’ homes.
Concert chiefs are currently consulting residents on proposals to bring back the season next year.
They hope to submit a new licence application to Camden Council in the autumn.
An English Heritage spokeswoman said: “The stage and ancilliary structures will be marked out on the ground and people will be taken on a tour and talked through exactly how the potential new location would work”.
The tours, which start at 1.30pm, 4pm and 6.30pm from the Orangery, each last for an hour and a half. Email kelly.wood@english- heritage.org.uk if you would like to attend.
