New end’s wicket wonders dominate schools cricket tournament
WICKET wonders from New End Primary School were bowled over this week when they won the Camden Schools Sports Association Cricket Championships at Regent’s Park.
Talented cricketers from the school, based in Streatley Place in Hampstead, dominated the final of the competition as their ‘A’ team sealed a 28 run victory over their ‘B’ team counterparts.
The rules of the tournament meant that sides had to field teams of five boys and five girls, who each had to bowl one four-ball over and take a turn fielding in every position.
When it came to batting, teams started with a score of 200 runs, and players were deducted four points when they were dismissed.
Overall, 18 teams from 13 schools across the borough competed. |
