Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR Published: 26 July 2007
Elderly lose out again
• IT did not take long for the Liberal Democrat/Tory axis now controlling Camden Council to show their fangs and true blue colours. But they really reached their depths when they stopped the Labour-backed yearly grant to the Irish Elderly Advice Network based at the Irish Centre in Murray Street, NW1, open to all irrespective of race or colour, doing an outstanding job on behalf of all our elderly in this area (as this trade union branch can verify).
We therefore call on all voters, young or old, to remember this outrageous and vindictive act against the pensioners and elderly of Camden when the next round of local elections take place. In the meantime make your voice heard on this matter, and don’t miss any opportunity in letting these skinflints know what you feel and think of their dreadful slap-in-the-face to our elderly and pensioners.
