Open mind on big job
• THE job of director of environment and culture in Camden is a big one and is rewarded accordingly. Peter Bishop effectively vacated the post last October. Since then headhunters and the council have been actively engaged in careful recruitment and some very heavy hitters were shortlisted.
It’s really beneath the CNJ and insulting to describe the appointee Rachel Stoppard in your headline as an “Essex girl set to be leisure chief”. Ms Stoppard deserves the support of the community, the council and the press in this vital role. Please, have an open mind and give her a warm welcome to Camden. CLLR PAUL BRAITHWAITE
