Lauren Cawley meets Charlotte the police horse at the Alma Street summer fair.
Summer fair revival proves a bright idea as revellers get a rare ray of sunshine
BACK by popular demand, the Alma Street summer fair drew hundreds of Kentish Town residents who were rewarded with a glimpse of sunshine on Saturday.
The Inkerman Area Association arranged for stalls, a maypole and a dancing display, while police horses from West Hampstead joined Kentish Town’s Safer Neighbourhoods Team for an afternoon which relaunched the traditional area fair for the first time in several years.
The event was also supported by the Kentish Town Local History Group and the Owl Bookshop, with tomes on the long history of NW5 being carefully preserved from the rain.
