A YOUNG motorcyclist was killed and a woman seriously injured in a collision in Tottenham Court Road on Monday night.
Twenty-three-year-old motorcyclist, Steven Costa, believed to be from Hornsey, collided with the woman at a pedestrian crossing on Tottenham Court Road, near the junction with Grafton Way, just before midnight.
Mr Costa was pronounced dead at the scene.
The unnamed 28-year-old woman was taken by ambulance to the Royal London hospital suffering from head injuries where her condition remains critical.
Sam Cornwell, landlady at the Northumberland Arms, who witnessed the accident, said: “The bike skidded and he ended up further down the road and the woman was flung back into the road. She was obviously in a lot of pain.”
