Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR Published:9 August 2007
Swimmers seem to be unanimous
• I AM a regular swimmer. Until the Kentish Town baths were closed, I used the facilities almost every day. Now I go to Swiss Cottage which is much too crowded and out of my way if I wish to swim before work. Needless to say I look forward to the baths reopening which are just a short walk from my home.
However, I do share Annie Harz’s concern about having to use the changing facility and shower with men (I don’t bathe in front of my husband, letters, August 2). Much as I am keen to swim every day, this is something which could possibly keep me away. That would be a great pity as I need the exercise.
So far, swimmers seem unanimous in their rejection of such unisex arrangements at the Kentish Town swimming baths. It is therefore surprising that Camden, in an effort to win hearts and minds, have not yet withdrawn their strange proposals. GRANDA GILLEGAO
