The Saints shine on
FOOTBALLERS from a top team in the Camden and Islington Youth League were in action at the weekend in the Puma Championships.
The under-10s St Pancras side started off with a 1-0 victory over the hosts courtesy of a fantastic strike from George Yianni. The striker was on target again, alongside Alfie Moir, when the Saints beat Forty Hill 2-0.
Goals from Moir and Snapper Young saw St Pancras beat Interwood White 2-0 in the third game, before leading scorer Yianni netted the only goal against Southgate Adelaide to earn the Saints maximum points in the group stages.
Moir, Yianni and Connor Alloway all scored as the Saints marched into the final, where they lost 2-0 to Interwood Red.
The Saints are looking for new players. Anyone interested can call Barry Archer on 07944 631 667.
Senior players can also join in the action. Camden Sunday League side CS Maritimo are holding trials at Parliament Hill Fields on Sunday at 11am. For info call Bill Rego on 07768 762 641.
