Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR Published:16 August 2007
Village mix, no thanks
•IT is obvious from Fiona Dean’s letter (Changing rooms will offer sport centre a flexible mix, August 9) that Camden has no intention of altering the plan for the showers and changing rooms at the Kentish Town swimming baths. I filled in one of their consultation papers and I do not recall being asked specifically and clearly whether I would want mixed facilities.
No one in their right mind would respond that they wished to have mixed showering and changing facilities.
It seems that Camden is just trying to fit the responses to what they want to give us.
If they really want to know what the public want, why don’t they run a simple, clearly worded questionnaire in the New Journal?
They would soon find out that the ordinary, decent people of Camden simply do not wish to shower or change anywhere in the vicinity of the opposite sex, whether this goes on in the next cubicle or anywhere within the open plan proposed “village” they are so keen to push down our throats.
What other surprises does Camden have in store for us? JACKIE POTS
