Anne Hayman JP in Hampstead Magistrate’s Court
Reality bites for trainee police officers
A VETERAN of law enforcement came out of retirement to tackle one last case in Hampstead yesterday (Wednesday) – and though suspicion fell on a police officer, the story ended with nothing more than a few stern words from a magistrate,.
Hampstead’s Grade II listed Magistrates’ Court next to the police station in Rosslyn Hill, which has not been used for a hearing since 1998, was cleared and dusted so that student police officers could be exposed to the rigours of giving evidence.
Organiser Sgt Lee Gibbs invited Anne Hayman JP and barrister Deborah Scales from Lincoln’s Inn Fields to add realism as Hampstead PC Gavin Parrott sat in the dock.
