HAMPSTEAD moved into the top three on Saturday following a commanding five-wicket home win against Wembley at Lymington Road in West Hampstead.
The visitors won the toss and elected to bat first as they continued their desperate search for points in a bid to get off the bottom of the table. But Hampstead’s bowling attack showed little mercy as they restricted Wembley to 157 all out off 60.3 overs.
Despite being set a fairly comfortable target of 158, Hampstead were made to work hard for their victory.
Leading the charge was Brandon Buckley, who hit a well-crafted score of 57 to help Hampstead seal all 10 points with a winning score of 161-5 off 32.1 overs.

SOUTH Hampstead remain in the bottom three after a frustrating away result against championship chasing Acton on Saturday
Having been put into bat first, they climbed to a lead of 230-8 off 55 overs before declaring. South Hampstead’s bowlers were just as impressive as they came within two wickets of earning a surprise victory.
But second placed Acton held out to end play on 198-8 from 46 overs, clinching a four-point winning draw.

HIGHGATE missed going top on Saturday after being held to a draw in against bottom-placed Wycombe.
With title rivals Twickenham and North Middlesex both failing to win, Highgate would have had their sights set on top spot when they won the toss and elected to put the visitors into bat first.
Highgate made a promising start as the bowlers Tony Duckett and Andy Browne started the attack in frugal fashion, picking up a wicket each to remove both openers and leave Wycombe on 26-2.
But Wycome captain James Rodham played a magnificent innings to notch up a score of 131, supported by a well-crafted 89 from Tarique Awan to take a ­titanic lead of 306-9 off almost 50 overs before declaring.
Jake Sharland did his best to drive Highgate to victory as he showed great shot selection to hit an unbeaten score of 103.
But in the end his efforts were to prove in vain as Highgate ended their 50 over stint on 225-4 to take a frustrating point, leaving them third in the table.
