Of interest to students

• MANY university students will currently be filling in their application forms for their student loan, but beware.
The interest rate last year was only 2.4 per cent; however, the loan rate as from September 1 2007 is 4.8 per cent. Yes that’s 4.8. You won’t see this figure on your loan application form.
The rate has doubled, and is based on the RPI from the previous March (2007) which unfortunately peaked that month.
