Ife is grand prix tennis champ

TENNIS champ Ife Kuchler added another title to her tally last week when she lifted a prestigious open championship.
The 10-year-old won the girls’ 10 and under Grand Prix at the Ellesse Chandos Junior Open Championships in Golders Green after beating Sara Howard by a comprehensive margin of 6-1, 6-1.
Kuchler, who trains at Islington Tennis Centre in Barnsbury and attends The Royal School in Hampstead, also made it as far as the quarter finals in the girls’ 12 and under competition. While Kuchler and her partner, 12- year-old Malika Sood, also beat the odds to finish in the top four of the girls’ 18 and under doubles tournament, losing only in the semi-finals to 15 and 16- year-olds Susanne McFall and Emily Williams.
The young tennis star went on to shrug off a cold to make it to the girls’ 10 and under finals at the Gerrards Cross Junior Open at the weekend, but lost out to Katie Dyson from Hertfordshire, 5-4, 5-4.
