Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR Published: 30 August 2007
Business as usual at market
• SET against a rich canalside heritage, Camden has long provided an eclectic and fascinating cultural experience for shopper and night-owl alike.
In recent weeks, rumours have been overheard that Camden Market is closing.
Many are unaware that Camden Town plays host to six very different markets, and have misinterpreted media coverage of development plans to move traders.
Camden Lock and the many markets and shops that have grown up since the 1970s, continue to thrive with a constant stream of would-be entrepreneurs and designer-makers. Each week brings new talent and keeps this shopping spot one of the most vibrant in London.
Camden Lock feels passionately for all the small independent businesses. It is important that we support them, and promote the message that for Camden Town; it is ‘business as usual’. SUE GRIMSDELL
